Record breaking flooding continues to occur in Pakistan.
Over 1300 deaths have been contributed to the flooding. Many have had to evacuate as the storm leaves a wake of devastation across the region.
Pakistan does have a monsoon season. However, some regions have seen 500% more rainfall than normal from July 1 to August 31.
Compounding this problem the rain has been falling on their glaciers causing them to melt rapidly adding more water to their ever growing flooding.
33 Million people have been affected by the flooding.
Authorities recently breached the largest lake in the country flooding 100,000 more homes. Their hope was to prevent if from overflowing its banks and affecting an even more densely populated region. The water level has yet to drop and may still overflow the lake.
